Our doctoral program immerses students in current challenges affecting educational research, policy, and practice. With a strong focus on teamwork, this interdisciplinary graduate initiative brings together faculty from education, humanities, social sciences, STEM fields, and medicine, while partnering with prominent campus institutions like the M.I.N.D. Institute and Poverty Center. Program graduates develop profound expertise in educational theories and practices for enhancing schools and learning environments. Structured as a minimum three-year endeavor, the program targets students with prior graduate experience and proven research capabilities in education. Program duration varies based on individual progress in coursework mastery, exam preparation, research proposal development, and original investigation. These diverse requirements create significant timeline differences among participants. The Graduate Group in Education provides specialized Ph.D. tracks focusing on: language and literacy studies, cognitive sciences, mathematics instruction, educational leadership and policy, or STEM/agricultural education.
Applicants must hold at least a Bachelors degree or equivalent with minimum 3.0 GPA.
