The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from our department is the sole ACS-accredited chemistry program available. This curriculum builds a robust background in mathematics and physics alongside chemistry, requiring students to complete advanced course sequences in all areas. The degree emphasizes hands-on laboratory skills, equipment operation, and data interpretation techniques. Graduates will gain versatile chemistry expertise applicable to diverse fields such as environmental science, drug development, materials engineering, and manufacturing. Our department provides multiple undergraduate pathways, including both Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) and Bachelor of Science (B.S.) options. Prospective students are encouraged to consult with our academic advisors about these programs.

This program prepares graduates for various career paths, including advanced studies in professional or graduate schools, research positions in government or corporate laboratories, teaching roles in educational institutions, and other science-related professions. Chemistry professionals examine chemical compositions and environmental specimens. They develop novel compounds for healthcare and consumer products while validating scientific concepts through chemical testing. Additionally, they assess material characteristics, including structural durability for engineering applications.
