The accelerated Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry and Master of Science in Chemistry program equips students to address environmental challenges through chemical approaches, tackling problems like air and water pollution, waste management, climate change, conservation, remediation, energy solutions, sustainable chemistry, analytical techniques, instrumental analysis, toxicology, and beyond. This unique Chicago-area B.S. program in Environmental Chemistry delivers comprehensive training in the field, while the accompanying M.S. in Chemistry enhances career prospects and earning potential through advanced study.
Participants develop specialized expertise for careers in environmental science, analytical chemistry, hydrology, atmospheric studies, toxicology, and public health. The graduate curriculum connects academic concepts with practical applications through research collaborations and professional preparation. Chemistry students collaborate with professors on pressing global concerns, including pollution tracking, biosensor development, viral detection at microscopic levels, sustainable chemistry research, photochemical studies, remediation material creation, energy storage solutions, and solar energy conversion catalysis.

Qualification Requirements
International First-Year Students (Freshmen) students who have not enrolled in post-secondary education after completion from secondary school/high school
First-year applicants are currently enrolled in secondary school, or have completed secondary school and have not attended an institute of higher education outside of their secondary school experience.
This includes students who have taken A-levels or studied in an Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum, as long as they have not completed university coursework. Sometimes these students are also referred to as freshmen, regardless of their class standing upon entering the university.
Submit official or certified copies of the marks or grades of courses completed prior to university or college entrance, as well as all board examination scores. In cases where official transcripts are not issued in English, you must submit the official native language transcript along with a certified translated English version.
Official SAT and ACT Test Scores (Optional): Submission of standardized test scores is optional for admission. This policy applies to all first-year, transfer, and international applicants and all merit scholarship considerations.
Submit letter of recommendations (Optional): International first-year students applying as part of Early Decision and Early Action must submit at least one or up to three letter(s) of recommendations.
