The Master of Science in Rangeland and Wildlife Management equips students holding undergraduate degrees in resource management or similar fields with advanced knowledge in rangeland ecosystems and their stewardship. This graduate program lays the foundation for careers specializing in livestock grazing systems, diverse ecosystem management (including grasslands, savannas, wetlands, and shrublands), native flora conservation, land restoration, conservation agreements, wildlife habitats, watershed protection, sustainable landscapes, and rangeland policy and economics.
This interdisciplinary range management program is overseen by faculty teams from UC Berkeley's Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management (ESPM) and collaborating departments.
Students benefit from exceptional research facilities, including multiple experimental range sites and nearby wilderness areas. Faculty members conduct both fundamental and applied research across these environments.
