Teachers frequently grapple with balancing aspirational educational ideals with the practical constraints of modern classrooms. At Berkeley's Graduate School of Education, we cultivate dedicated educators who strive to address this persistent challenge, shaping them into leaders capable of guiding their school communities.

The Principal Leadership Institute (PLI) enables participants to obtain a master's degree while working toward an Administrative Services Credential (ASC) Preliminary (Tier I). This credential qualifies graduates for various leadership roles including superintendent, principal, assistant principal, dean, or other administrative positions at different levels.
After finishing PLI, graduates can pursue our Professional Clear Administrative Services Credential through our Induction program. Our Leadership Support Program, launched in 2002, holds the distinction of being California's most enduring university-based induction initiative for school administrators.
