The Philosophy Graduate Program at Berkeley provides an exceptional faculty, a vibrant and welcoming community of graduate students, and access to the facilities of a top-tier global research university.

Our program stands out from other elite philosophy graduate programs in two key ways:

Our department excels across all major philosophical disciplines, encompassing epistemology, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, philosophy of language, logic, ethics, historical philosophy, and philosophy of science. We prioritize comprehensive coverage and diversity over specialization in just a few philosophical fields.
Additionally, Berkeley's program is designed to offer students significant flexibility in customizing their academic path according to their individual interests.
