The Chemistry PhD program cultivates students' capacity for innovative scientific investigation. As such, each candidate's primary academic focus revolves around their individual research endeavor. To promote independent scholarly exploration, formal coursework is intentionally limited and tailored by advisors to align with each student's specialized research area.
The doctoral curriculum offers these specialized tracks, each with distinct degree prerequisites:
Physical Chemistry: This concentration spans experimental physical, analytical, nuclear, biophysical, and theoretical chemistry studies.
Synthetic Chemistry: This track focuses on creating organic/inorganic compounds, developing synthetic methodologies, and analyzing their properties and applications.
Chemical Biology: This program bridges chemistry and biology, encompassing everything from bioactive compound synthesis to living system analysis.
