The joint major programs are intended for students wanting to pursue studies in two engineering disciplines to prepare for careers in either field or roles requiring expertise in both areas. These programs incorporate the essential courses from each major. Although they involve somewhat heavier course loads, they can be finished within four years. Both majors are recorded on the student's academic transcript.
The BioengineeringMaterials Science and Engineering Joint Major caters to students with a strong interest in biomaterials. Participants will explore the creation and development of innovative materials that establish new standards in biomaterials across all scales, from molecular to macroscopic, and will gain a comprehensive education that includes foundational engineering and life sciences courses. This joint major seeks to help students grasp the intersection of the two fields. Graduates of this dual major will be well-prepared to pursue careers in biomaterials within academic, industrial, and government sectors.
