The fields of transportation, logistics, and supply chain operations profoundly influence both commercial enterprises and communities, yet these complex issues create distinctive career prospects. The MS in Sustainable Transportation and Logistics develops internationally competent professionals with balanced technical and managerial expertise, preparing them for executive roles in these sectors. Addressing these subjects demands an interdisciplinary methodology that combines engineering analysis with business administration fundamentals. This graduate program is collaboratively administered by UB's School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and School of Management, providing an exceptional cross-disciplinary curriculum. Sustainability serves as the program's core focus, highlighting eco-conscious solutions and ethically sound operational methods.
Admission to the program will require a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 credit hours of mathematics and/or economics, and at least one calculus course.
An admission committee, consisting of faculty members from the founding departments of the Stephen Still Institute (namely Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Operations Management and Strategy) will be formed. 
Applications for admission are evaluated by the committee on the basis of criteria reflecting academic quality and probable success in advanced study. These criteria are:
