The Geography Department fosters a stimulating academic atmosphere that promotes exploration of the spatial and causal aspects of diverse social, economic, and environmental occurrences. Our dedicated professors focus on instruction and guidance within a cooperative setting. We offer individualized mentorship and motivate students to engage in close collaboration with faculty members.
Admission to the program is open to students who hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline. Students admitted to the program are expected to show proficiency in calculus, univariate and multivariate statistics, and introductory GIS at the time of admission. Students who do not meet the minimum qualifications are advised to make up deficiencies before entering the M.S. program. M.A. students have the opportunity to be admitted to the M.S. program.
