The Engineering Education PhD program promotes the blending of educational research, theoretical principles, and real-world implementation across engineering fields. It cultivates engineering professionals capable of creating transformative learning environments through hands-on approaches, equitable teaching methods, and evidence-based educational techniques. Participants learn to perform thorough investigations in engineering pedagogy, share their research outcomes with academic peers, and apply their insights to instructional settings. The curriculum provides deep immersion in fundamental theories, conceptual models, teaching methodologies, and educational frameworks specific to engineering instruction. Learners also develop competence in diverse research approaches, both qualitative and quantitative, enabling them to specialize and advance their academic contributions to engineering education.
Copies of transcript(s) for all post-secondary schoolwork must be uploaded with your application for initial review. Upon an offer of admission, accepted applicants will be required to submit official transcripts and proof of degree(s).
Your statement of purpose allows the admissions committee to learn about you as a prospective researcher. There is no minimum or maximum page length or word count.
In the statement, we look for: 
Two letters of recommendation are required to apply to this program. Letters are automatically requested when you enter recommenders' names and email addresses in your application. While we will accept letters from professional sources, we strongly prefer letters from professors acquainted with your academic interests, achievements, and abilities.
