The UB Dance Program cultivates a supportive yet demanding artistic environment that values adaptability. Students gain hands-on performance and teaching opportunities that prepare them for diverse professional paths in dance and related fields. Through BA and BFA curricula, dancers receive thorough instruction in modern, ballet, tap, and jazz techniques, complemented by studies in choreography, teaching methods, body awareness techniques, Laban Movement Analysis, dance history, academic research, dance anatomy, improvisation, musical theater styles, and social dance forms. A unique program highlight is its exploration of contrasting jazz techniques. This expansive training, paired with robust interdisciplinary coursework, develops versatile, knowledgeable artists who excel in performance, commercial dance, education, business ventures, dance media, and advanced academic pursuits.
Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.  If you have already completed secondary school, you need to submit both academic transcripts and proof of graduation with your application documents. 
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.000, both overall and at the University at Buffalo
