The Critical Studies Concentration in the Media Study major equips students with the theoretical foundation and critical analysis skills needed to appreciate media both as artistic expressions and vital components of contemporary culture. Graduates with this concentration will develop the ability to: Understand, articulate, and analyze media theory and technological applications; practically implement and showcase media technologies and theoretical concepts; skillfully apply theoretical knowledge to create media projects; examine, evaluate, and contrast media works and theories through systematic breakdowns; and integrate media technology and theory into sophisticated critiques and evaluations, pushing beyond basic application to deeper understanding.
Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.  If you have already completed secondary school, you need to submit both academic transcripts and proof of graduation with your application documents. 
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.000, both overall and at the University at Buffalo
