Communication plays a vital role in all facets of life and social connections. It holds tremendous influence as it molds our thoughts, emotions, and actions—even when we believe we're not actively communicating. Our choice of words and symbols, the media and advertisements we engage with, our fashion choices and living space decorations, and the addresses given by leaders—all these elements and more construct significant messages about our identities, perspectives, and the society we inhabit. Gonzaga University's Communication Studies Department aims to foster an advanced comprehension of communication as symbolic behavior through a curriculum combining theoretical foundations with hands-on learning. The program equips students to examine and evaluate various forms of human communication while developing skills to produce and present content through diverse channels.
As an applicant for admission, you are expected to graduate from an accredited high school with a college preparatory curriculum.
