The Music Department fosters and supports creative and performing artists. Our offerings in performance, composition, music history, theory, and library science draw students worldwide, with graduates building successful careers both in North America and internationally. Each year, we host more than 150 concerts featuring everything from student groups to world-famous guest performers. Additionally, Western New York boasts a vibrant cultural scene with thriving communities dedicated to jazz, experimental music, cinema, poetry, and theater.
A bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, from an accredited/government recognized college or university. Most such degrees will be four or more years in length; UB recognizes some three-year degrees, but not all.
A B-grade (GPA of 3.0) or higher from your bachelor's degree (or equivalent) courses. Grade point averages from non-U.S. universities will be evaluated by UB's Office of International Admissions.
Appropriate standardized test scores (GRE, GMAT, LSAT, etc.). Not all programs require test scores. See the official academic test scores section below for more information.
