The Professional M.A. in Russian program consists of at least 33 credit units. Independent Study (RSSS 599) credits are rarely permitted (maximum 3 units) and only when course offerings don't cover a student's specialized interest area, subject to faculty availability and DGS approval. Typically completed in four semesters, Marketing Emphasis students generally follow the prescribed curriculum, though alternative courses may be approved if unavailable or better suited to academic/professional goals. Always coordinate with both your Faculty Mentor and the DGS during registration to maintain steady degree progress. Russian-taught English courses require all reading and writing assignments in Russian whenever feasible for Professional M.A. candidates.
