The Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics provides a Master of Science in Epidemiology program. This graduate degree prepares students for careers in epidemiological research, equipping them for roles as research administrators, program coordinators, data analysts, and evaluators across academic institutions, public health departments, government agencies, and related organizations.
Participants can choose between a general Epidemiology MS track or a specialized clinical epidemiology concentration, each with slightly different requirements. Those interested in the clinical epidemiology specialization should reach out to the Epidemiology Section Chair for details.
Each student's MS curriculum will be collaboratively designed with their Faculty Advisor, then reviewed by their Graduate Committee and the Epidemiology Section Chair. Typically completed in two years, the program's first year focuses on foundational courses and passing the qualifying examination, while the second year emphasizes advanced coursework and thesis research development.
