The program is highly quantitative, it is required for applicants to have a strong background in physics and calculus (GPA: 3.5+). Undergraduate Prerequisite Courses:
College Physics 1 Introduction to Mechanics
College Physics II: Intro Optics & Thermodynamics OR Electricity and Magnetism
Calculus I
Calculus II
Vector Calculus
Ordinary Differential Equations
General Inorganic Chemistry I (required for research in atmospheric chemistry and aerosols)
General Inorganic Chemistry II (required for research in atmospheric chemistry and aerosols)
GRE Exam is no longer required for domestic and international applicants.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 79 iBT (or 60 on the revised PBT with no section score lower than 15). Individual MyBest scores must also be dated within 2 years of the enrollment term to be considered valid.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum composite score of 7, with no subject area below a 6
