The Master of Public Health (MPH) is an interdisciplinary professional degree focused on public health practice. The MPH Program equips students with foundational knowledge and essential skills across core public health disciplines. Learners can develop expertise in specific concentrations through advanced studies while applying their knowledge to real-world health challenges during field internships. Full-time students typically complete the program in two years, while part-time students have up to six years to finish. The curriculum and learning objectives align with established MPH competencies, which outline the expertise graduates gain from the MEZCOPH MPH program for prospective students, employers, and stakeholders.
The Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) MPH specialization is administered by the Department of Community, Environment and Policy. Students can choose between two concentration paths: Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) or Industrial Hygiene (IH).
Both pathways train professionals to assess and mitigate health risks from chemical, biological, and physical hazards in communities and workplaces. The EOH track offers more elective options and specialization flexibility, requiring 42 credit hours. The IH track emphasizes occupational safety with additional required coursework.
