This Healthcare Informatics graduate certificate equips students with leadership skills and advanced competencies needed for informatics roles in healthcare systems, tackling quality and safety issues while improving organizational performance. Ideal for graduate degree holders with healthcare experience (nursing, medicine, public health, dentistry, nutrition sciences, pharmacy, etc.), the program requires no prior informatics background. Students pursuing the 12-credit option, which includes a 200-hour, 3-credit practicum, will qualify to take the ANCC Informatics Nursing Certification exam.
To qualify for entry into a Certificate program, you must have a degree and active licensure as an advanced practice nurse (nurse practitioner, nurse anesthetist, clinical nurse specialist or certified midwife). Additionally, applicants to the AGACNP specialty must have RN experience in an acute care setting. Certificate programs admit for a fall start only.
