Exploring biology offers a dynamic, practical journey that leads to rewarding careers across diverse fields, particularly in preparing students for advanced academic or professional studies. Biology fundamentally examines living organisms. The Bachelor of Science in Biology with an Organismal Biology focus provides comprehensive education in biological systems—from molecules and cells to organisms, populations, and entire ecosystems. Students explore the biological mechanisms that structure these systems and drive growth and adaptation. This curriculum covers genetics, biochemistry, ecology, and evolutionary biology.
This Organismal Biology-focused degree is designed for aspiring professional biologists and educators. The coursework emphasizes systems biology with concentrations in animal behavior, genetics, ecology, and evolutionary processes. Students are highly encouraged to engage in independent research opportunities, whether through faculty laboratory work or specialized programs.
