Pursue a profession fueled by your passion for music while guiding and shaping future musicians. The Bachelor of Music in Music Education program equips students with the skills to become music educators, providing K-12 certification for instrumental, vocal, and general music instruction. Graduates earn credentials to teach music at all levels from kindergarten to high school, securing roles in elementary schools, secondary institutions, and colleges nationwide and internationally. By enhancing both performance abilities and teaching expertise, this degree also serves as a strong foundation for advanced graduate studies.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Students will attain the musical proficiency necessary for artistic performance in their primary instrument or voice.
Students will master musicianship skills and analytical techniques, including comprehension of musical structures, along with aural and visual interpretation. They'll apply this expertise in performance, research, teaching, composition, and improvisation.
Students will acquire fundamental knowledge of music history, repertoire, and styles. They'll learn to situate music within historical, cultural, stylistic, and social frameworks to enhance their teaching methods.
Students will gain expertise in contemporary K-12 music education content, teaching philosophies, instructional materials, technology integration, and curriculum design. They'll develop specialized teaching skills for general, instrumental, and vocal music education in various group settings.
Students must have high school equivalent to USA and entry requirements vary from country to country. International applicants whose primary language is not English, or who attended school in a non-English speaking country, regardless of citizenship, must prove English proficiency. English proficiency may be proven by one or more of the following:

Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic - 53
IB (English A – Higher Level) - 5 or higher
Cambridge English Scale (C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency) - 169
