The IDS program offers an interdisciplinary approach to education, contrasting with conventional major/minor structures. This Interdisciplinary Studies degree equips learners to engage in critical, analytical thinking across diverse academic fields. The flexible curriculum allows you to select courses aligned with your personal interests and goals. Participants complete 27 units in their chosen Emphasis area, supplemented by 9 units each in three distinct Concentrations. The Science, Technology, Health and Society track cultivates understanding of scientific methodologies and boundaries while enhancing observational, analytical, and quantitative reasoning abilities. Course selections should provide either multidisciplinary exploration or specialized study, blending technical expertise with essential professional competencies like logical reasoning and innovative problem-solving.
To fulfill Emphasis requirements, students must incorporate coursework from two distinct disciplines, enabling them to assess their environment through a scientific lens.
