This sociology program examines how social frameworks and relationships influence human existence. Through this Bachelor of Arts concentration, learners acquire comprehensive understanding of societal foundations, operations, and challenges, with emphasis on interpersonal, group, organizational, and cultural dynamics. Graduates develop expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, along with refined interviewing techniques and exceptional writing proficiency. Some students leverage this sociology foundation for legal, healthcare, or social work careers, while others use it as preparation for advanced study to become research sociologists in academic or organizational settings.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Ability to analyze societal challenges with critical perspective, Learners will develop analytical capabilities, sophisticated reasoning, and effective written expression.
Understanding of investigative approaches and empirical data, Participants will master research methodologies, social science techniques, and data interpretation, including statistical analysis and evaluation of scholarly research findings.
Comprehension of societal disparities, Students will recognize contemporary inequalities related to socioeconomic status, gender, ethnicity, and sexual identity. They'll also learn to assess arguments and proposed solutions regarding social diversity and inequity.
Familiarity with societal structures, Participants will understand core social systems (including family, education, religion, economic systems, and legal/political structures) and their interrelated nature.
Students must have high school equivalent to USA and entry requirements vary from country to country. International applicants whose primary language is not English, or who attended school in a non-English speaking country, regardless of citizenship, must prove English proficiency. English proficiency may be proven by one or more of the following:
