As the nation's inaugural Bachelor of Arts in Law program, this degree addresses the growing need for legally-trained professionals in diverse career fields. Legal education serves as a foundation for numerous occupations, ranging from political careers to human rights work, while the challenging curriculum equips students with valuable, marketable skills. Participants in this groundbreaking Law B.A. program - the first of its kind in the United States - benefit from instruction by faculty from both the College of Law and the School of Government and Public Policy. The curriculum covers fundamental legal concepts including contracts, torts, and criminal/civil procedures, complemented by specialized internships that let students focus on their preferred legal areas. Beyond being valuable for careers where legal knowledge provides an edge, this program also offers accelerated pathways - either to law school or through the university's fast-track master's program, enabling students to obtain a Master of Legal Studies with just one additional semester of study.
