The joint Public Health/Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) degree is a collaborative initiative between UAB's School of Public Health (SOPH) and School of Health Professions (SHP). Participants in this dual-degree program obtain an MPH with a Population Health focus. This customized track provides students with comprehensive public health training by fulfilling MPH core requirements (grounded in Evidence-based Public Health principles), completing both an Applied Practice Experience (Internship) and Integrative Learning Experience (Capstone). Learners can choose from various master's-level Public Health courses (including maternal and child health, global health, and health policy) to create a personalized study plan aligned with their professional aspirations. Dedicated academic guidance helps students tailor their educational pathway.
