Public health experts specializing in environmental health need to identify, assess, and manage workplace and environmental hazards that could negatively impact well-being and cause illness. The Master of Public Health (MPH) program's Environmental Health specialization focuses on examining connections between workplace/environmental hazards and human health, covering everything from exposure mechanisms to evidence-based risk evaluation and policy creation. Our curriculum prepares learners to identify and evaluate environmental and workplace hazards, assess potential toxic effects on people, and create and effectively communicate risk reduction approaches while contributing to policy formation. Additionally, students learn to formulate prevention strategies and management protocols for work-related injuries and illnesses. The required practicum provides hands-on experience in environmental and occupational health, equipping students with practical problem-solving skills for their future careers.
