This program offers insights into literary heritage while equipping you with advanced writing skills for careers in education, publishing, law, and beyond.
We've designed our curriculum to support diverse career aspirations. Beyond coursework, you'll collaborate individually with faculty mentors, take part in Graduate Research Day, and complete either a thesis or conference presentations. We'll also guide you in selecting the ideal specialization for your goals. Opting for creative writing places you in workshops to hone your craft as a poet, novelist, or nonfiction author. You'll refine your literary analysis skills, enhancing your creative abilities. The literature track immerses you in British and American works through reading, discussion, and critique. For aspiring educators or professional writers, the rhetoric and composition concentration explores writing's applications across business, politics, advertising, and other industries.
