The Acting Concentration offers a carefully designed curriculum that equips performers with fundamental skills and versatility across various acting techniques and approaches.
Typically spanning three years, the MFA program may offer accelerated options for candidates entering with an MA in theatre, subject to faculty assessment of prior coursework. Applicants seeking advanced standing must request an evaluation of their previous studies. A minimum two-year residency applies to students in accelerated tracks. With approval from both the specialization Area Head and relevant Department, up to 45 credit hours may include cross-disciplinary Theatre courses from other academic units.

Qualification Requirements
Each international applicant must hold the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited institution to be eligible for graduate admission. While individual departments may have more stringent requirements, bachelor degrees from Bologna Accord certified institutions are considered to meet this criterion. We do also consider Indian three-year degrees to be equivalent to a U.S. four-year degree.
