Our dynamic MA program in German provides specialized tracks in literature, linguistics, and interdisciplinary studies, welcoming exceptional new applicants. Our diverse community of current and past graduate students hails from multiple nations including Cameroon, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, and the United States, creating an international cohort bonded by their passion for German studies.
Students may choose between Plan I (24 course credits plus a thesis) or Plan II (30 course credits without a thesis). The curriculum requires 6 credits of German literature alongside philology courses. Up to 9 credits of approved graduate coursework in related disciplines may count toward the degree. Notably, EH 622 Old English qualifies as a German course for students in this program.
