The Kinesiology (BS) program features two specialized tracks: Exercise Science and Physical Education. Highly driven Exercise Science students can also pursue an Accelerated Master's Program (AMP).
Exercise Science
Students focusing on Exercise Science complete coursework that equips them for careers in diverse professional environments and advanced studies across health-related disciplines. Career pathways encompass physical therapy, occupational therapy, physician assistant roles, medical fields, biomechanics, prosthetics, pharmaceutical sciences, dental medicine, clinical exercise physiology, cardiac rehab, corporate wellness programs, fitness facilities, personal training, group exercise leadership, and strength coaching positions.
Physical Education
Physical Education concentrators progress through their studies as a cohesive group. Core coursework covers instructional methods for elementary, secondary, and advanced levels, incorporating diverse teaching approaches and curriculum frameworks tailored to different developmental stages. Practical teaching experiences integrated throughout the program culminate in a student-teaching internship. The curriculum also includes essential exercise science courses that support physical education instruction, alongside general education requirements.
