Those working toward a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology can specialize in athletic training, rehabilitation science, exercise science, physical education, or strength and conditioning. The athletic training concentration prepares students for state licensure in athletic training professions, though admission to UTSA's Athletic Training Apprenticeship Program is required. National certification demands graduate-level study at an accredited institution. The rehabilitation science track equips students for healthcare careers like physical or occupational therapy, both of which require advanced education for licensure.
This curriculum offers a pathway to a B.S. in Kinesiology with a Rehabilitation Science focus, ideal for students completing prerequisites for medical school or graduate health programs (such as Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Physician Assistant studies).
