Those pursuing political science studies often aspire to careers in government service across federal, state, and municipal levels, legal practice, secondary and higher education instruction, policy advocacy, public-interest nonprofits, elected or appointed positions, campaign work, and journalism. Political science education also fosters engaged and knowledgeable civic participation.
The program provides multiple pathways for earning upper-division credits, including international study options in Sweden, Guatemala, Israel, Belgium, and Germany. Students may also qualify for academic credit through participation in the UA Mock Trial Team or political/governmental internships at various levels. High-achieving undergraduates can pursue the department's Accelerated Master's Program, enabling them to initiate graduate coursework while completing their bachelor's degree.
