The School of Accountancy collaborates with the School of Law to provide eligible students a pathway to earn a combined JDMSA in Financial Forensics. This initiative combines the expertise of both fields to specialize in an area with high demand. Participants will gain expertise in legal and accounting principles related to financial forensics, including investigative techniques, analytical methods, resolution strategies, and fraud prevention for today's complex financial landscape. Depending on prior coursework, students may finish the program in one to three additional semesters beyond the standard JD timeline. Upon completion, graduates will be awarded both a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Master of Science in Accounting (MSA). Graduates will be prepared to pursue professional certifications such as the Ohio Bar, CPA, CFE, and CFF.
Pursuing this dual degree saves time compared to completing each program separately, as certain courses count toward both degree requirements. This mutual recognition of credits between the two schools forms the foundation of the joint degree program.
