All educator preparation programs for certification are authorized by the Alabama State Department of Education. Prospective teachers pursuing certification should review individual program details for qualification criteria and graduation prerequisites. Certification recommendations will only be granted to candidates formally admitted to an approved teacher preparation program who fulfill all current mandates.
The College of Education's certification programs aim to cultivate expert classroom educators, instructional support professionals, and specialized practitioners who can better support P-12 learners. These graduates emerge as educational leaders who actively enhance their school communities and advance the teaching profession.
Troy Global Campus education students must satisfy all specialized accreditation standards to be recognized as graduates of accredited programs (CAEP, CACREP, and CORE). A maximum of 12 credit hours from institutions lacking proper specialized accreditation may potentially count toward degree completion requirements.
