The Master of Science in Criminal Justice aims to expand and improve students' capacity to comprehend, assess, and address challenges facing the U.S. criminal justice system. The program's core curriculum focuses on: (a) examining personnel scenarios through the lens of standard procedures while applying key personnel laws and regulations within criminal justice agencies, (b) showing thorough knowledge of criminal law and procedure development as reflected in contemporary Supreme Court rulings, (c) assessing research findings about the efficacy of different crime prevention strategies used by law enforcement, judicial systems, and correctional facilities for both juvenile and adult offenders, (d) interpreting criminal justice scenarios and behaviors using diverse criminological frameworks, and (e) properly utilizing various research approaches and methods in criminal justice contexts.
