The criminal justice master's program equips students with essential skills to study and evaluate key aspects of the discipline, concentrating on crime patterns, legal frameworks, societal regulation, and implementing reforms within the intricate criminal justice structure. The program develops capabilities to tackle pressing criminal justice challenges through enhanced reasoning, solution-finding, and management competencies. Students will master techniques for evaluating and implementing research across diverse justice contexts.
The curriculum explores interdisciplinary connections between criminal justice and related domains such as substance abuse, psychological services, community welfare, and domestic relations. Candidates will satisfactorily conclude their capstone projects or final assessments. Participants will advance through the program and earn their degrees within an appropriate timeframe.
Applicants to the Master of Arts program must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with a major or minor in criminal justice or a closely related discipline (acceptable fields outside criminal justice to be determined on a case-by-case basis by the Graduate Admissions Committee.
The graduate school requires that applicants have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
Minimum score requirements: TOEFL: 550 (paper) or 79 (internet), IELTS: 6.5 (academic version).
