The undergraduate rehabilitation and disabilities studies program has two primary objectives: (1) equipping graduates for entry-level roles in public and private rehabilitation fields, and (2) preparing students for advanced studies, especially in rehabilitation-related graduate programs. The coursework establishes a robust liberal arts foundation, aiming to help students comprehend human behavior within social contexts, grasp social service resources and policy development (particularly concerning rehabilitation clients), acquire research evaluation skills for assessing practice effectiveness, master rehabilitation theories and disability assessment techniques, develop core communication abilities with clients, utilize vocational information systems, formulate human problem intervention approaches, and cultivate support strategies for disabled populations. Students must complete a mandatory 240-hour field practicum.
