For those considering careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, clinical exercise testing and prescription, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, health-fitness/wellness, strength training, or nutrition, the Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science offers an ideal foundation. This rigorous program features specialized tracks in pre-health professions, health and wellness, and nutrition, drawing coursework from five academic departments across two colleges.
Focusing on graduate school preparation for health professions like physical therapy, occupational therapy, and physician assistant programs, the curriculum equips students for successful admission to graduate health programs nationwide. Graduates will also be eligible to pursue certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association, and other leading organizations in health, fitness, clinical exercise testing, and strength training. Through this program, students cultivate strong decision-making skills, ethical awareness, problem-solving capabilities, adaptability to diverse challenges, management competencies, political understanding, and a commitment to service.
