Dance students can choose to fulfill the qualifications for state certification to teach dance from PreK through 12th grade. Those enrolled in this program may seek certification to teach dance in Maryland's public schools and other states for grades PreK-12. This curriculum culminates in a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance and Choreography, including PreK-12 Dance Education Certification.
If a student's GPA drops below the required 3.00 minimum, they'll have one academic term to raise their grades. Not meeting this standard could lead to removal from the program.
The Teacher Education Executive Board (TEEB) maintains the authority to reject, decline, or withdraw admission applications to professional education programs or internship placements for any student whose behavior violates the Professional Behavior Policy guidelines.
