Bioengineering faculty actively engage in research initiatives that demand close cooperation with scientists and medical professionals at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
For the thesis track, students must complete 24 credit hours of classes along with 6 research credit hours, while the non-thesis alternative requires 30 coursework hours. A minimum of 50% of these courses must be completed within the Whitacre College of Engineering. As this is an interdisciplinary master's program, remaining credits may be earned either within or outside the engineering college. Additionally, graduate students are required to complete at least one advanced mathematics course at the graduate level.
