Texas Tech University provides Master's and Doctoral degrees in Spanish with two specialization options: Literature & Cultural Studies or Linguistics. Students are also encouraged to pursue a minor in Portuguese, Applied Linguistics, or another language. The curriculum combines comprehensive instruction in Spanish language, teaching methods, and cultural analysis with focused research opportunities, while emphasizing professional growth and mentorship. Our distinguished faculty, recognized worldwide, teach and conduct research across diverse subjects and disciplines. They collaborate closely with students and maintain active connections with various Texas Tech programs including Comparative Literature, Medieval and Renaissance Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, Media and Communication, the Humanities Center, and the Archaeological Institute of America.

International applicants must provide original language documents and English translations. If the documents are not provided in English, an official English translation of all transcripts/ individual semester mark sheets is required.
If admitted, the applicant will be required to submit official transcripts, diplomas/degree certificates, and test scores by the twelfth class day of the term to which the applicant is admitted.
Original or Certified Copies of All College and University Transcripts - Include mark sheets, examination results, etc. An official English translation is required. If the degree is not complete when the application is made, six semesters or three years of course work are required.
All international applicants must be in good academic standing at any school they are currently attending. All international applicants must have been in good standing in all schools they previously attended at their final matriculation.
TOEFL - The minimum TOEFL score required is 550 (paper-based version) or 79 (internet-based version).
IELTS - The minimum IELTS required score is an overall band score of 6.5 on the Academic version.
