The Department of Psychological Sciences comprises 34 full-time faculty members, 4 staff members, around 130 doctoral candidates, and roughly 975 undergraduate psychology students. Our department provides PhD programs in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, and Experimental Psychology (with specializations in Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience, Human Factors Psychology, and Social Psychology), along with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (a Bachelor of Science degree is in development). Three doctoral programs hold national accreditation: Clinical and Counseling Psychology (by the American Psychological Association, APA) and Human Factors (by the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, HFES). These accredited programs enjoy strong national recognition. Beyond graduate studies, we operate the Psychology Clinic—a training and research facility offering psychotherapy and assessment services to the university, Lubbock, and surrounding areas. The clinic functions under the Department of Psychological Sciences.
