This program provides advanced studies in literature, creative writing, and linguistics. Designed to go beyond undergraduate education, it offers a unique academic journey focused on deeper exploration and honing analytical skills. The English Department delivers its M.A. degree through both in-person and online formats, with identical coursework across both delivery methods. The 36-credit-hour English M.A. program presents two pathways: thesis and non-thesis. The thesis track involves 30 credits of graduate coursework plus a thesis project (6 credits) requiring writing and defense. Alternatively, the non-thesis path consists of 36 credits of coursework culminating in a portfolio defense, featuring revised essays or creative works accompanied by a reflective analysis.
