Taking a conservatory-style approach, our screenwriting program stands out through its distinctive structure, methodology, and core principles. Writers in our program explore diverse genres, discover their personal creative voices, and develop a substantial portfolio. With intimate class sizes limited to ten participants, we provide personalized guidance that empowers writers to push boundaries, enhance their conceptual thinking, expand artistic visions, and find the right mix of solitary reflection and teamwork to produce their finest work. In the initial semester, screenwriting students collaborate directly with production peers. They will: craft short films that are then filmed, designed, produced, and edited by fellow students in specialized roles, observe various on-set positions, and serve as the writer during production of their own short film.
Following this intensive first semester, students transition into their specialized track where they: brainstorm, refine, and complete a feature-length screenplay, master storytelling techniques with a narrative focus, and learn the intricacies of adapting works across different genres.
