This program provides advanced studies in literature, creative writing, and linguistics. Designed to go beyond undergraduate education, it offers a unique academic journey focused on deeper exploration and honing analytical skills. The English Department provides both in-person and online M.A. programs, with identical coursework across both formats.
The English M.A. is a 36-credit degree offering thesis and non-thesis tracks. Thesis candidates take 30 credits of graduate courses plus 6 thesis credits, culminating in a written thesis and defense. The non-thesis alternative involves 36 credits of coursework, with students compiling and defending a portfolio containing revised essays or creative works, accompanied by a reflective analysis.

International applicants must provide original language documents and English translations. If the documents are not provided in English, an official English translation of all transcripts/ individual semester mark sheets is required.
If admitted, the applicant will be required to submit official transcripts, diplomas/degree certificates, and test scores by the twelfth class day of the term to which the applicant is admitted.
Original or Certified Copies of All College and University Transcripts - Include mark sheets, examination results, etc. An official English translation is required. If the degree is not complete when the application is made, six semesters or three years of course work are required.
