The 15-hour core curriculum focuses on artistic interdisciplinarity, featuring four mandatory courses: a colloquium on disciplinary frameworks and interdisciplinary approaches, arts history studies, contemporary arts analysis, and philosophical aesthetics. Students round out their core studies with an approved topics or aesthetics course. Theatre track candidates typically complete specialized coursework and a tailored curriculum aligned with their professional aspirations and skill sets. (Full program details appear in the Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts catalog section.) Doctoral candidates must complete 18 graduate credit hours within a consecutive 12-month period to satisfy residency requirements.
