The School of Law collaborates with the School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center to provide a dual-degree program. This initiative allows students to obtain both a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Medical Doctor (M.D.) within six years. Ideal candidates are those pursuing careers in healthcare policy, biomedical compliance, forensics, bioterrorism, or related medical-legal fields.
Applicants must satisfy the entry criteria for both schools. Although the School of Law has no specific undergraduate major requirements, the School of Medicine mandates a baseline GPA, MCAT score, and completed coursework in biology, chemistry (general and organic), physics, statistics, calculus, and English.
Prospective students must apply simultaneously to both schools during the same admissions period, submitting all required materials. Gaining admission to both programs demands thorough preparation and strict timeline compliance. Applicants should thoroughly review each program's specific requirements and application procedures.
