This specialization in the B.S. in Education program is mainly intended for those pursuing teacher certification for grades four through eight. Participants can select certification in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, or Mathematics. It is recommended that students meet with a college advisor to identify the degree plan that aligns best with their career goals. The degree plans for various certifications will consist of subject-specific coursework and a four-semester sequence of professional education courses (which includes two semesters of student teaching). Field experiences, scheduled outside of regular class hours, are integrated into all courses.
