Philosophy majors need to fulfill 30 credit hours in philosophy courses, covering PHIL 2310, PHIL 2320, PHIL 3301, either PHIL 3303 or PHIL 3305, plus one elective from PHIL 3330, PHIL 3340, PHIL 4330, PHIL 4331, or PHIL 4340. A minimum of 24 hours must be upper-level (3000 or 4000). Minors must complete 18 philosophy credits, with at least 6 at upper-level. Transfer students must complete at least 9 major credits or 6 minor credits at Texas Tech. All philosophy courses counting toward major or minor requirements require a minimum grade of C. Numerous students pursue philosophy as a dual major alongside another discipline.
